How is there no code syntax highlighting on Steemit?

How is there no code syntax highlighting on Steemit?

I know Steemit has markdown code blocks using ``` ```, but it still doesn't have any language specific syntax highlighting as far as I know. It would be such a great addition to the website and open Steemit
