That's not how distribution works though.
If thousands went out and bought a bunch of STEEM, that would drive the price up. Those who are currently holding way more STEEM than anyone else here, would greatly benefit from that price increase and would have more power.
When I talk about distribution, I'm talking about the overall current slices of the pie. Those at the top are massively up there. I'm not necessarily saying this shouldn't be allowed, I'm more just remaining cautious about who's actually holding that power. Currently, I don't have a lot of faith with the top whales.
Plus, the whole "ninja-mining" situation when Steem first started out doesn't help...
