Summer has begun in the northern hemisphere and trillions of mosquitoes are on the move again in the more northerly latitudes. Aided by the longer and warmer days, they're swarming people's homes, looking for fresh blood to feast on.
It turns out these little demons aren't attracted by light, but by body smells and your personal emission of Co2. Yes, you emit Co2 too. One moment you're comfortably asleep, while the next moment you're woken up suddenly due to a mosquito sometimes literally buzzing IN your ear. I don't know how many times I've searched for those things in the middle of the night, while sometimes uttering profanity if I'm really pissed off.
The mosquito shown above was scheduled to die seconds after my photograph, but it managed to dodge one of my encyclopedia's that got slammed into the wall, causing some dogs in the neighborhood to bark ... !
