The works of Haruki Murakami. In particular The Wind up Bird Chronicle and 1Q84 put you in a dreamlike haze while reading them. The author intricately weaves together the reality and metaphysical experiences of the characters making the story beautifully confusing yet painfully real. These books will pull at your heartstrings and direct you to self reflection while wanting more and more of the story. There isn't much more I can say because I feel like everyone will have their own personal experience, what I can say is ,give the books a shot.
