Last Light attempts to tackle the topic of climate change, dependence on fossil fuels, and imagining the future without them.

That's an oddly specific premise, and I imagine that it might make the show a little bit too oriented toward specific issues to be excellent as entertainment.

But it is a worthy concept to explore in science fiction. I don't like society's reliance on automobiles.
