Acoustic guitar is one of the best sounding instrument. It has a reach, natural sound and it makes playing more amusing and fun. Acoustic-electric has more options regarding sound, because you can plug it in an guitar amp and make it louder.
But nothing makes acoustic guitar more versatile than effects pedal. It gives you almost unlimited posibilities. With it you can add fx like reverb, delay, tremolo, change EQ etc.
My favorite acoustic guitar pedal is Zoom AC-3. It has loads of features and doesn't cost too much. One of the best feature of this pedal is Target Guitar. For example, if you have a dreadnought guitar you can change it to OOO or jumbo style guitar.
