A world created just for you
just for those few minutes of your REM phase.
Fed with guilt, stuffed with shameful thoughts
swelled with unspoken words and too big dinner
It grow on your lies, grazes on your vanity, bulging itself with your longings.
It swells and shrinks, refuses to be touched and suffocates you at the same time.
Bright as an exploding supernova and dark as the bowels of a dungeon.
Kingdom of Dreamers, Kingdom of Sleep.
I'm not much of a poet, but I do appreciate a touch of old, good decadence :)
So... no whining today!
As promised, between my anatomy studies I will weave in my other drawings which, apart from being an exercise in skill, have some sort of merit(hopefully).
Today I continue the Sleeping Kingdom series, here you can find the 1st drawing of this series
I've been chasing my own tail all week, frustrated because I had an idea for a picture and no time to get to it. So I sacrificed today's work for art!
Regrettably, that is not true. I'm now going to sit up all evening and catch up... because to my misfortune - I'm a grown up, sensible person :)
About drawing:
I started with a pencil sketch to give myself a safety buffer - I knew the drawing would take me quite a while, and as I mentioned earlier - impatience is my main flaw. A pencil can always be erased, a pen is not so forgiving.
I only sketched the outline of the figure, so as not to worry about the anatomical side, whose 'deficiencies' bother me so much, then I just used a pencil. After that I've used a noname pen from Tesco, one of my favourite drawing tools, comes in pack of 10 and cheap pen 'Toma'. Then a bit of solvent and a white gel pen to lighten the drawing a bit. And that's it.
