From the earliest of my memories when I was young, I remember Mom used to tell me to not look towards a particularly dark corner in the room. This was her strategy to make me sleep quickly, but it would

"I regret it," thought an old man as he lay on his deathbed. He knew he didn't have much time now. It would be here soon. This moment of quiet left him to wonder about the choices he made. He

Zapfic50 - "Landscape"

It was a landscape of death, a land of pain, of chaos. On the edge where civilization ended and something else began. On the shores of the endless ocean, which will drag all kinds of horrors from the bottom

When my father died, he left behind a will. The will was simple. The house, the land, and the lie. It was written exactly like that. At first, I thought it was one of my father’s strange jokes. He was

Dailyprompt - First Impression

First impressions are hard to forget. I still remember that night. The harsh cold rain and the knock on my door that cut through the dark. If I had known back then… how could I have known such a thing?

The forest felt oddly alive. Traces of light still existed, thin strips of it breaking through the canopy, but they never stayed long enough to be useful. Every step forward felt like stepping into a maze.
