And you know what, just today I happened to talk to the cyclist I mentioned in my first paragraph, for the first time in seven years. And guess what: we discussed tubeless tires. Sure, it has its advantages, but they can also break and rip under strenuous use and abuse. And then... yeah, fixing them is a really messy affair, which most of the time can't even be done on the roadside. Plus, even if they don't break, the sealant must be maintained regularly, as it dries up. And those dry sealant "boogers" are a mess of their own. All in all, I don't really like the idea. But that's just me. They may turn out to be ideal for Jamie. Btw, I would be super curious about his bike setup when he leaves on his trip.
