Okay folks, this is another update on the Twitch to YouTube exports/archival playlist.
First of all, I've successfully exported all of October's remaining, and all of November's past streams to YouTube and they'll soon be put in the playlist, in the correct order, partly so I don't have to do this later, but also so it's easier for me to look into merging the separated parts of the video into one whole part. Additionally, I've removed all the short videos lasting less than 10 minutes, as after looking at them, it's clear that they were just stalled starts in one form or another. Additionally, I've cleared all of those videos from my Twitch VOD list, as they were effectively clutter; I'll, of course, keep up to date with ensuring that only the proper videos are in my VOD list on Twitch.
So now we come to the status of the exported VODs. Currently, as far as I'm aware, the 2 videos I did in 2017 (yes, they'll be included in the new system, and merge with May's playlist), all of May, and then July & August videos are currently public, and needing changes made to bring them in line with my current system (for easier organisation). Due to this, I'm not releasing the September (if they aren't already public) to November videos until I've aligned all my previous stream videos to the previous system, which means the following:
As far as I'm aware, they're currently the only changes that need mentioning, though I'm hoping that it'll mean somewhat less work for me in the long run, as well as having a more uniform setup, as well as not running into issues with the title length on YouTube (Twitch's field is longer), as well as allowing full titles of games. One additional thing I'll be doing is setting up an info site for every game I (and others) have streamed and listing purchase links for every site the game is available for sale on. Do note however, that I'm including GUN (or related) affiliate links within each entry, and they'll be indicated with a '*', so people are aware which links support us when purchasing a game. I'll also be including a line that states who played the game, and the dates the game is covered under and also a link to the review (if there is one), so it's easy to find videos on the game before it is purchased. This means that I'll also be shortening the info for each game in each post, to shorten the description a bit (and also allowing more info to be displayed).
It's likely that a Wiki will be used for this info, as it allows a lot of flexibility with info display, though it'll take a while to build it, so I'll be making those changes later on, especially once I've defined a template; I'll probably incorporate it as part of a wide Geeked Up Network Wiki, as it makes things easier in the long run, which I'll look into shortly!
Either way, I'm going to make things a bit easier to handle in the long run, so look out for updates on this!
