Managed to complete my boxed #Sidewinder 3D Pro, or rather the edition with #Hellbender in it, excepting perhaps the Hellbender manual and the misc #Microsoft gubbins you get relating to registration, safety, etc., and ironically, it actually cost me the stickered price to get it to that point! I actually got the box, with the manual, joystick, and cardboard insert (separator) for a fiver from the shop as I said that there was no game in the box at the time I bought it, but I've spent so much money at that particular charity shop, I've more than made up for that discount, and other ones I was offered (generally for buying in bulk)! I appear to missing the driver (floppy) disk for the joystick, but another eBay purchase (or more likely a download) can fix that!
Also, my WonderSwan collection is gradually increasing, with Final Fantasy 2 being added to the collections of games/software/accessories I'm building up for it, which arrived from Japan in 6 days, which is impressive! I also have 2 copies of "SD Gundam G Generation Gather Beat" arriving soon, one with the Wonderwave accessories (and also a spiffy patch), the other without; I bought them for the purposes of multiplayer, when I pick up another WonderSwan, either a Color or another SwanCrystal (which are pricey)! The other thing I have coming is Digimon: Digital Partner, which also includes a Wonderwave, because I worked out that for a few Dollars more (prices are in USD), I can get a full game on top of that, so they're much better value than buying the Wonderwave alone!
Besides that, I now also have a copy of Trailblazer, which is my first (and currently only) retail Gizmondo game, though that won't be arriving for a while; I got it for less than 20 quid, which is a bargain for Gizmondo games, given that there are less than 25,000 of the consoles in existence, and they were only released in the UK, Sweden, and the USA. Whilst it does still hold the record for the rarest handheld console, in terms of retail sales - as well as the worst selling handheld console - the "Vega Plus" can take the crown overall for the rarest handheld console, seeing as no more than 400 units are out in the wild. Oddly enough, both of these handhelds are mired in controversy, but I'm not here to discuss that right now. However, what I will say that the Gizmondo does represents one of my "holy grails", ever since I saw it back in 2004, at Game Stars Live, which actually kicked off a lot for me, but I'll discuss that another time as well.
In any case, Trailblazer - one of the best games on the Gizmondo - will be a worthy addition to my collection! I also have a GP2X-F100, which is also quite rare as well, so I'm glad to have that in my collection as well! I need to see how large an SD card it can take, as the 1GB card it comes with is a bit small for my liking, though it may take up to 4GB (like the Gizmondo I believe), or it may also go up to 32GB with a firmware update, but I do need to be careful in that regard... wither way, I guess I need to videos on them both! I do want to pick up a GP2X Wiz, a GP32, and even a Tapwave Zodiac (all boxed ideally), but they'll be major undertakings! I definitely want to explore the Gizmondo library, in terms of homebrew, retail games, and unreleased games, as well as the games for the GP2X, but I figure that homebrew will be the majority of my remit there... unless I get lucky with finding physical copies of commercially released games, but I definitely think that I can eventually get some decent videos out regarding the rare (and not so rare) handhelds I have, when I get things in order.
Apparently, regarding the GP2X, it's worthwhile installing Open2X, though I've no idea how to install that. Of course, it does look like there's a very small community for it, as well as the Gizmondo, so it has really gotten me considering setting up websites for all these computers, consoles, and related stuff that don't get a lot of love nowadays, which would allow me to provide info on them all, as well as where to get software, etc. for them, although that's all still in the planning stages. I'm considering having it as a wiki, which I technically could start right now thinking about it, but I would need to get help with compiling the info; I'll touch upon that in a later blog, as it'll definitely be a Geeked Up project that I need to properly integrate into things, in terms of the overall strategy, or I might just make it a sub-wiki of the Geeked Up Network Wiki, which might make things easier, in the long run, thinking about it! Looking at things quickly, it does look like this would need a little work, so it's definitely something I need to look into further.
Coming up with ideas on the fly is a pain, as I'm fast realising that I need to come up with a system to help me facilitate these ideas, in terms of having a toolkit that enables me to file ideas at various stages of development, especially an "ideas bank" (an outline of a couple of sentences), a "concept bank" (consisting of a paragraph, which fleshes out the idea more), a "design bank" (next stage after concept, as it includes research and further fleshing out, as well as dated evaluations of the design for feasibility at the time), and then moving into an "episode bank" (pre-production stage for videos if it passes into being feasible), a "series bank" (essentially the former but for a series), and lastly a "project bank" (for overarching projects not a video project, such as a photo series, or websites), just so it means I'm able to better organise things, especially in terms of things I need to get moving on, seeing as everything is currently done from my head!
In any case, I'm rambling again, so let's leave it here on this topic. I'm not 100% focused enough to do videos (which take me more energy than photos or writing) at present, so I'm going to have to essentially take the #SIGIL #Unboxing and #Cybiko videos at a gradual pace in terms of filming. On that note, I'm going to be taking a slightly different tack with regards to streaming; I'm instead going to only do Thursday streams for the month of September (with the option to convert back to Friday after I best work out how to handle thrifting days), and phase the Wednesday stream back in from October. The Monday stream, I'll think about how to deal with from November onwards, though I'll probably look at rolling out the Sunday stream sooner, mainly because I have not yet worked out how to deal with Mondays, and the safest way of dealing with it is leaving it open. I will, however, be thrifting more often by then - I hope (definitely looking into it more regularly from October) - so I'll be trying to integrate the "best of the week" (or a weekly summary perhaps) photo post with Instagram/Steepshot for the remainder of this year, whilst I work out how to frame the seasonal (covering a 3 month period) SGU Pickups & Thrifts videos for 2020, along with the "Best of 2019" video.
If you have read this far, then you should take at least two cookies from the plate! I do eventually want to more tightly and consistently convey my ideas, plans, and thoughts in terms of blog and status posts, but it does be pretty difficult at times, as I'm still learning! Hopefully, I'll start getting better with this from next year, though I have around 3-4 months of 2019 to make steps towards this.
