Last week, I shared how the two queens - my aunt and Poetess - has formed an alliance after years. But, since that night, she has gone missing. Now, maybe we should be worried. But, in our region, there is a legend about the mother and the offsprings not living together, after certain point. According to it, one of the two, the mother cat or the kitten/s, has to leave. In most cases, it is the kitten who is willing to go in search of a new territory, new family or new food. Who knows what runs through their minds. But for us, the case is bit different. It is the mother who has gone for the new life.
Now being a rational being, I mean it is the demand of human being. I did what I do the most. Some researching, because I cannot just sit there, and think that legend is true, because it has been going on for centuries.
So, on some simple searches, I found few articles, proving this fact on biological grounds. So yeah, I am going to believe that the case here is true. Being honest, I am scared. What if she has gone to the other world? Maybe that is why I am trying to escape from those henious thoughts, and searching for an optimistic reasons.
Cats are naturally quite independent. A mother cat is highly involved with her kittens when they are young, but as they grow, weaning and independence naturally reduce the amount of time she spends with them. Kittens begin exploring outside the nest around 4–5 weeks, and mothers become less responsive as the kittens approach weaning.
We have asked in our neighborhood if they have seen her. All said NO! And I just hope that she is doing all fine, all good. The articles do mention that they go on their individual spree; but they do visit occasionally. The only thing concerning me right now is that it has been a week. Maybe, she is still visiting the Prince (her offspring), as the Prince has also started going outside, and we are unaware of it.
I do have a logical reasoning behind this thing as well. Before stating that here is the picture of the Prince from last week.
The Prince was sad for the whole day long. And at that time, we did not know the reason behind it. Meowing all day long, and it felt like he was crying. But his face did look like someone who is having a hard time. It took us two-days to realise that Poetess has gone, and that maybe the reason behind his unusual behavior.
But here is a bit rational reason for optimisim.
He is back to his normal-self again. Though, he still prefers milk over anything, but he has also started to like chicken meat. And by that look of him, I believe that he has met her mother, or at least he knows where she is.
In the end, I do not know if the Poetess is ever coming back or not. I just hope she lives the best of her life, and if she wishes, she can join us again. Huh, wish the Prince could talk, so we could do something about it. Heheh, too many wishes gone missing :)
We cannot always know where the ones we love have gone. Sometimes, all we can do is hope that wherever they are, they are safe, loved and living a beautiful life.
This is the last memory of them together:
