Although I love animals, and always will, I don't think I will ever have cats again.
These are my two babies, adopted when I was living in NYC. The female is Starlett.
She is the one with the white paws and white chest patch. My spouse named her after we got her. The male is Lalo, his original name. It also happened to be the name of my oldest brother who would have been 77 years old. He was murdered when I was 15. He was my moms first born, I was the last of 8. Fate?
I loved both my cats very much and tried to give them the kind of life they deserved. Unfortunately , after having them for a few years, we came home from work in Manhattan, NYC, to find that our home was totally burned. The girl was found behind the sofa she loved., of smoke inhalation. We never found the boy.

It took a long time to recover. So much so that we decided to move to Texas. We have two precious little dogs we adopted 3 years ago. I have a post on them here also. I didn't want two..it just worked out that way.
It's a hard thing to have lost my parents, homes, brothers, and my little ones. I had a little yorkie as well, she was with us 8 years before dying of kidney disease. We lost her cremated remains in the fire as well. It's why I don't know if I'll ever have anymore after this. It takes a toll to lose my little ones. To this day my love of animals is something that is inherent in me. It always will be.
To me life is life, and love shown with loyalty is something I cherish. I'm glad I have good memories of them though. They still make me smile, even though sometimes it's the opposite. Life is still beautiful and I encourage everyone to adopt whenever they're thinking of getting a fur baby. They will pay you back for it with all of the loyalty anyone could wish for!
