Buzzwords are popular these days and boy oh boy is "Productivity" a hot one!
Well, with being in nursing school full time and getting into regular blogging here on Steemit I have found I don't have a good system for staying productive.
At any given time I have multiple school assignments I should be working on while also having multiple posts cooking in my brain whether for the various groups and communities I'm involved in or trying to get off the ground (S/O to #steemsilvergold and #steemedc, one is well established and doing big things, the other I'm trying to get going!)
Something has to give, I've been blowing deadlines and due dates because I have been focusing on things that weren't necessarily pertinent at the time...
Now I'm trying out Trello...
Its a "Get Stuff Done" type of app in which you create boards and lists and then individual cards in those lists.... This is meant to allow you to visualize what you need to do, when its due, etc. It takes a bit of time to get it set up, but I think it will end up being worth it if it helps keep me on track.
And this is a good feeling...
Dragging items to my "Done" list feels great... Read that as - You get a nice dopamine release. This is the whole thing with social media, you get a little hit of dopamine when you get a like or someone comments "good stuff" or... You get an upvote. If I can get a little of that same feeling when I actually accomplish tasks related to school or whatever else I think I'm moving in the right direction!
They've got Mac, iOS, web based, and I believe Windows and Linux apps...
We'll see how it works out for me and if I can stay more on top of stuff using it!
