Yesterday I visited the London Crypto Currency Show which was held at the Novotel in Hammersmith. The instructions said the venue was opposite the train station which caused some problems as I assumed it would be fairly easy to spot once emerging from the tube, however after a quick look around it became obvious that opposite the station was a pretty loose term and I ended up getting the phone out to check for the venue, which though close was a short walk from the station and you definitely would have needed to be going in the right direction.
There were no obvious signs from the outside that a conference was on and I mistakenly went into the main entrance to the hotel just to the left of the picture, it would have been quicker and easier to have gone to the right where the bus is and into the entrance there. After asking at the main entrance which involved a lift up and then travelling back down I made it to the registration desk.
I must say the hotel looks very new and was very clean and tidy, there was in addition to the Crypto Conference a Maths conference going on at the same time.
I had two intentions for my visit, one to attend the talk on "Will Government Regulation Affect Bitcoin and other CryptoCurrency Prices?" and the other to see the SteemPromo stand. The SteemPromo event was organised by @Starkerz, @Anarcotech, @Stephenkendall and the entire #Promo-Steem team and was the busiest booth at the event by far so a great shout out to them for all the hard work they put into making it happen.
There was a lot of interest in Steem and the ability to create a Steemit account at the booth, which was really cool. Plus there were two screens showing the international Steem community and what a big movement it has become.
The talk was interesting and unfortunately only lasted 30 minutes which only left time for one question from the audience, there was so much to pack in regarding talks so it was understandable but I would have liked to have heard the panel answer some more questions, for instance they never really answered the price effect but did explore legislation and why it was inevitable, if the market is to become much bigger than it is now.
The talk was moderated by Dylan Leighton @anarcotech and I must say he did a really good job.
So all in all it looked a really successful event which attracted a lot of visitors which just shows how much interest in this space there now is, on top of that it was great to see Steemit being showcased it such a great way.
