A couple of friends and I get together when we can and do some nature journaling when our schedules manage to align. On this day, the spring weather was cooperating so we got to do it outside on my deck.
I usually work in a bound journal, but my friend gave me a piece of her really nice watercolor paper to try. What a difference good paper makes! I really enjoyed how the colors flow on it.
The other friend brought a giant jar with some beautiful viburnum branches in it so that was our subject of the day. Painting white flowers is definitely a challenge with watercolors.

We finish off the evening with a nice glass of wine and a few other sketches.
