Betrayal is worst and more painful when it comes from those that are very close to you. Jean de Calais stayed 7 years in that sea without anyone knowing his where abouts, surviving only on bread and wine, that must've been a difficult time for him. While the traitor took over his home and even tried to marry his wife. I commend the smartness mad patience of the woman who continued to postpone it for many years. I seriously wonder why the great white bird didn't present his deal to Jean de Calais earlier, he allowed him to suffer this seven years before offering him a deal of returning to his home.
