I never cease to be amazed that people are uncomfortable using human urine and feces as fertilizer. We have been using animal manure forever and don’t think twice about it. But when it comes to people. Yuck!

Sure humanure contains bacteria and viruses. So does all manure. The key is to use a thermophilic composting method. That kills the dangerous stuff. But if you are only using stuff that you yourself produce then even that is not necessary. You don’t have to worry about catching something that you already have.
The Chinese supposedly used uncomposted material called nightsoil I believe and never had a problem until foreigners showed up carrying diseases that were unknown to the natives.

People really would be well served to get over their childish paranoias and get back to basics
