The official attendance was 83,179, probably hampered by the fact that rail strikes occurred on the Friday and Saturday. With City's triumphant march to overhaul Arsenal in the Premier League, I don't think anyone in their right mind would have backed City to lose this one (except Man U fans). However, the FA Cup is still capable of extracting excellent performances from the "underdogs" and cause upsets - even in the final. (mind drifts wistfully back to 1976 and Man U losing in the final to my team - Southampton - HAPPY DAYS - unfortunately relegation fodder this season LOL).
Nice article.
