Of course, with the ongoing success of Man City, and indeed Pep Guardiolo himself, after all don't discount his successes at both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, before he got to City, the availability of money to build his teams and thus be successful will always be a huge factor. But as you say he isn't the first manager/coach to have benefitted. Way back in the 94-95 season Blackburn Rovers were probably the first team to be recognised to have "bought" a league title in the UK, pipping Man Utd by a point that year, and nowadays they don't even warrant a mention in the big spenders cabal.
