William Buick couldn't quite work his magic on the back of Compliant yesterday, finishing in second place, and proving overly keen in the early stages, In contention racing in 3rd place, moving into 2nd place 8f from home, taking the lead 2f later. Urged on for more effort at 2f to go, before being headed with over a furlong left. Had nothing left to give as the winner eased clear to cross the line 3.5 lengths ahead.
