Hello again one and all,
It's Wednesday, aka humpday since it's downhill from here to the weekend, and another bank holiday weekend with the coronation of King Charles III taking place. That spectacle of pomp and pageantry is a few days away, while today we have 6 meetings of racing action to consider.
Recap - Tuesday 2nd May, 2023
If you read yesterday's post you will know that i trimmed down the number of bets from the 13 winning tipsters the day before, to place 9 bets. Unfortunately, the gods were against us and not a single one landed, slipping us back into the red. Some did get close in finishing second, but not quite good enough.
The two runners I highlighted from our 9 selections yesterday both finished second in their respective races, Mutaany 1.75 lengths behind the winner, and Micks Dream a bit closer at 1 length back, but no prizes for second place with this strategy.
Tipsters Standings
With none of the 13 tipsters having second day success they were joined on 1-1 record by 9 other tipsters, which gives me a bit of quandry in the choices for today (placing 22 bets seems to me a bit excessive, and even bordering on the obsessive. I decided firstly to cull all those who for the current "season" (not month) only had 1 winner so far. That left me with 8 tipsters to choose from. Two of these had picked the same selection, so that droppped down to 7. Three more didn't win yesterday, and I was considering dropping those too, but have changed my mind and left them in the mix. Thanks to some picks in the same race, I further managed to cull the list down to 5 bets.
Today's Bets
Our five "hopefuls" are shown below, three are reasonably priced and will add some good returns to the kitty if they land. Almost tempted to take Little Ted at each way terms with the extra place offered by my bookie, but plumped for the win bet in the end.
There we have it for another day. Bets are placed, time to relax until the results are in.
