Hello again one and all,
Another busy raceday ahead with 6 meetings to choose from so another tricky day for the tipsters. The tipsters kicked off the month with 13 of them landing an opening day winner. This means a lot of bets to place. I had hoped several of them would pick the same runner to reduce that number but that only happened in one case. Additonally, horses in the same races only occurred twice, which still leaves 10 bets to place. I knocked another out of the list due to the poor odds (4-6).
Recap - Monday 1st May, 2023
Another 50% day from our two picks, although the one that lost was second. We did, however move into slight profit.
Always prominent, even leading for a time with 4f to go. Joined by and passed by the eventual winner with a furlong to. Stayed on and rallied slightly when under pressure inside the final 110 yards.
Took the lead early, but overtaken at the 6th obstacle. Stayed close, however, and regained the front spot at the 12th. pushed along with 3 to go, and a mistake at the second last could havwe scuppered his chance, recovered, though, and kept on well after the last to win by a good 4 lengths.
Tipsters Standings
13 tipsters opened the May campaign with a winnerso a lot of choices for boosting the kitty. The main two I've focused on today are Garry Owen and Ben Morgan as they both had a winner the previous, and thus 2-0 for the "season". Spotlight would also have been picked but he has the same selection as Garry Owen, so a bet saved for another day.
Today's Bets
Although I've placed 9 bets in total for today the two i'm particularly focused on are those shown below.
This 5yo Bay Gelding returned from a 6 month break to finish 5th of 13 in heavy ground, at Windsor 15 days ago, but only 4 lengths behind the winner. Didn't get a great run that day, and goes for a slightly shorter trip on better ground today.
A winner last time out at Brighton back in October, following a hat-trick of second places. The long break should see him fresh and ready for action. Likely to start favourite.
