Hello again one and all,
Sunday, and just the three meetings and 22 races today for consideration. First race of the day is the 13:45 at Naas, near Dublin in the Republic of Ireland. Stratford kicks off 20 mins later, with Ripon's first race another 20 mins after that.
Recap - Saturday 20th May, 2023
Another dispapointing day for us yesterday, with both our selections failing to even make the placings, fininshing 8th and 10th, leaving us on a two-day losing streak once again.
Laurel
Even the great Frankie Dettori couldn't manage to get this 4yo Filly across the line in front, although was in a decent chance early on, tracking the leaders and running in third palce for a spell. Veered of a straight line to the left, and ridden from just over a furlong from home, weakening inside that final stretch, ultimately finishing 10th of the 12 runners.
Atrium
This 4yo bay Gelding, started well and soon tucked in behind the leaders in the main group. Travelled steadily, and when presented with a route through towards the front needed pushing along. Made a bit of headway with 2f to go, but was unable to quicken further as the leaders stretched the field. Weakened inside the final furlong and just caught on the line to drop a further couple of places, ultimately finishing 8th of the 12 runners
Tipsters Standings
Again, not a huige amount of success for those at the top of the May table, though the group on 6 wins for the month has increased to eight tipsters after yesterdays results. Will any of that groups jump onto 7 winners today? We shall see. Newmarket will stay 1 ahead regardless, however, although we'd obviously prefer if he bagged a winner today and got the last third of the month off to a good start.
