Strategy Summary
So to recap on what I'm doing with this betting strategy:
- Using the run-line market to back the SF Giants to win a game.
- This will generally mean a -1.5 run-line bet meaning the Giants will need to win by at least 2 runs to give a successful bet.
- Occassionally, and usually dependent on a) the opposition, and/or b) odds offered by my bookie I'll flip it to a +1.5 run-line bet, meaning the Giants can either lose by 1 run, or win the game to give a winning bet.
- Initially, at least, amount staked will be a modest £0.10 GBP - so this is not a strategy to rake in huge amounts, but hopefully will bring us a profit by the end of the season.
Yesterday's Summary - 21st June
The Game
The Giants bounced back from 2 defeats in a row, with a battling 12-10 victory over the Braves in game 2 of this 4 game series. Thanks to a 3 run homer in the top of the second from Austin Wynns, his first of the year, that took the Giants to an initial 4-0. Only Luiz Gonzalez missed out on the scoring spree as all batters, including the pinch hitters, grabbed a score, although he did bring a run home with a sacrifice fly. The Braves then scored 7 runs in their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings to pinch the lead. By the end of the 7th inning the Giants had recovered the lead, helped by Joc Pederson's 15th homer of the season, which was further extended with 3 runs in the 9th. The Braves tried to rally but ultimately fell short.
Anthony DeSclafani, didn't improve on his 0-1 record, lasting 3 innings giving up 5 runs from 6 hits. So it was left to the 6 releivers from the bullpen to guide the Giants to victory, combining for to match DeSclafani's stats of 6 hits and 5 runs. Tyler Rogers was recorded as the winning pitcher, taking him to 1-3 with a 5.01 ERA.

Today's Bet - 21st June
Carlos Rodon 6-4, 2.84 ERA, takes the hill for game 3, looking to make it a hat-trick of consecutive wins. So far in June, from 4 starts he is 2-0 with an ERA of 1.17, throwing for 23 innings, striking out 27, giving up just 4 runs from 14 hits, so after yesterday's run fest could be the perfect foil to tame the Braves offence.
As usual we're going for the Giants to win by 2 or more runs (-1.5 RL).
