This was yesterday afternoon while sitting at one of my favourite, lesser known, beaches along our coast in False Bay on the southern peninsula Cape Town, South Africa called Mackeral Beach in the town called Glencairn. It was an incredible winters afternoon after a couple of weeks of mostly stormy, wet & cold weather which is typical here at this time of year. I think that virtually anyone that had a craft of any type, size or shape was out in the bay enjoying the time.
In the background one can see the Hottentot Holland mountain range and the Roman Rock lighthouse. It is the only lighthouse in South Africa that is built on a single rock and stems back from 1861. It was first electrified in 1992 at the request of the South African Navy.
