How safe is using water filters for drinking water purposes?
DON'T BE FOOLED: As useful as they are - Manufacturers often erroneously CLAIM that they remove harmful chemicals and toxins from the water, HOWEVER; They CANNOT remove certain chemicals, like Fluoride etc. (which ONLY steam distillation can do!). That is NOT to suggest that you shouldn't use a water filter! You SHOULD, as everything you can filter out otherwise is still a wise move.
It’s not easy making sense of all the different water filters and purifiers available in the market today and unfortunately the terms are often used interchangeably. Add to that the daily headlines about new contaminants and toxins discovered in our water supplies and many people throw up their hands at the thought of ever being truly confident about the quality and purity of the water they are drinking, cooking and preparing meals with every day.
'Drinking water' can be tap (faucet), bottled, filtered, distilled, mineral, purified, sparkling or enriched.
Our bodies have a REMARKABLE ability to keep on filtering (most) substances and toxins from our bodies. Sometimes they benefit from assistance however, and it is not always the case of 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger'!

This video was intended as broad coverage of certain aspects of the water that you and I drink every day. It was not specifically about Fluoride, although much mention was made of it due to the relevance. There were a few additional points I meant to mention but forgot, including;
A common myth is that drinking distilled water deprives your body of nutrients:
The average person consumed ample nutrients by way of their regular diet. If however you are at all concerned about this; you can safely add a tiny pinch of Himalayan pink rock salt to the END result from distilling – NOT added TO the water you are distilling, as that will be purified to fresh water in the distilling process.
In physiology, body water is the water content of an animal body that is contained in the tissues, the blood, the bones and elsewhere, by weight & by volume. Ensuring the right amount of body water is part of fluid balance, an aspect of homeostasis.
Body water constitutes as much as 93% of the body whereas some Intracellular fluid (2/3 of body water) is fluid contained within cells. Therefore, it's logical that the purity of the water we consume, should be a factor of concern, as cells were not designed to multiply with the chemicals often found in drinking water.
By weight, the average human adult male is approximately 60% water and the average adult female is approximately 55%. There can be considerable variation in body water percentage based on a number of factors like age, health, water intake, weight, and gender. In a large study of adults of all ages and both sexes, the adult human body averaged ~65% water. However, this varied substantially by age, gender, and adiposity (amount of fat in body composition).
Most of animal body water is contained in various body fluids. These include intracellular fluid; extracellular fluid; plasma; interstitial fluid; and transcellular fluid. Water is also contained inside organs, in gastrointestinal, cerebrospinal, peritoneal, and ocular fluids. Adipose tissue contains about 10% of water, while muscle tissue contains about 75%.
