Things You Didn't Know About Apple Cider Vinegar;
Apple cider vinegar, or cider vinegar, is a vinegar made from fermented apple juice, and used in salad dressings, marinades, vinaigrettes, food preservatives, and chutneys. It is made by crushing apples, then squeezing out the juice. Bacteria and yeast are added to the liquid to start the alcoholic fermentation process, which converts the sugars to alcohol. In a second fermentation step, the alcohol is converted into vinegar by acetic acid-forming bacteria (Acetobacter species). Acetic acid and malic acid combine to give vinegar its sour taste.
Apple cider vinegar has MANY people who use it for various purposes, including medical, with outstanding results!
Folk medicine?
Apple cider vinegar has a long history of use, whilst rarely studied in any TRUE western independent study, primarily due to large Pharmaceutical corporations not being able to sell it as 'Medicine', therefore losing huge amounts of money, Thousands upon thousands of people have tried and used Apple cider vinegar to great benefit for treating ailments and skin conditions, Acid Reflux, even as a Natural Vegan Deodorant! health claims for Apple cider vinegar are often borne from having tried modern western medicines, to no avail - Sometimes even after being told that there IS no other treatment, people have tried ACV and successfully treated, sometimes permanently CURED stubborn, difficult skin rashes like Rosacea. Given the natural enzymes
Safety
Ingestion of apple cider vinegar has the most efficacy, when roughly a tablespoon of natural Apple cider vinegar [with 'MOTHER' - Which contains the natural organisms and macrobiotics and enzymes that vastly differentiate it from regular store-bought Apple cider vinegar] is typically mixed in a full glass of water. Taken a few times daily, there is no proven risk in it's consumption, despite biased pharmaceutical attempts to claim otherwise for the above reasons. Irritation and redness are common when the eyes come into contact with vinegar, however this soon passes and is at worst, a mild stinging sensation. It is however, not recommended to deliberately use ACV in the eyes, as it is an acid after all. It is also advisable to dilute Apple cider vinegar in water, as suggested above, Due to its acidity, as prolonged exposure of teeth from consuming undiluted apple cider vinegar may damage tooth enamel, so rinsing mouth with fresh water afterwards is recommended.
If used as a homemade cleaning agent, apple cider vinegar should not be mixed with chlorine bleach, the combination of which may release chlorine gas and irritate airways, eyes, nose and throat.
