I guess most Aussie's look to the south coast of England and yeah they are not wrong I was always taken to Eastbourne as a child!

Wales has amazing coastline, Fresh Water West in Pembrokeshire a favorite. Two dogs, never really thought about that, but I think it comes from if you have two the dogs they always have company.
