This image I created yesterday, straight out of my livingroom.The weather was not very welcoming for light painting. So I rather chose the warm living room with a hot cup of tea and some music.馃槂
Some people ask for what lightpainting is...
Light painting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source while taking a long exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or to shine a point of light directly at the camera, or by moving the camera itself during exposure. Nothing is added or removed in post processing.
I the first part of the shot I lit some "effect-paper" from the side with different colours. This is how it looks in daylight.
For the second part I swapped to another tripod and mounted the camera on my CRT (Camera Rotation Tool). In front of the camera a Plexy Blade was mounted on an old bicycle rim, which rotates while the camera is rotated around the lens axis. (6x60 degrees)
Additionally I placed some black fiber optics (with blue colorfilter) for the shiny blue touch in die middle of the rotation.
What the hell is camera rotation?
Camera Rotation is a Light Painting technique that falls into the category of kinetic Light Painting. The CRT (Camera Rotation Tool) is a device which allows the camera lens axis to be rotated during a single exposure.
