In this present dispensation,it is common for a few set of people to be regarded as selfless maybe because of some remarkable things they've done to help individuals and people especially in tough and trying times,sacrificing their very few and probably last just to help certain people out.No doubt such people are angels sent among men to help humanity in our misery and such thing rarely happen anymore.
Many philanthropic initiatives and targets are still backed up by multiple schemes aimed at profit making.That is just the truth.Particularly here in Nigeria,many NGOs(NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS) have the aim of making profit and not majorly or primarily to help out people.
People might tend to appear to be selfless,always rendering and dishing out help but there comes a time when a minute of selfishness will creep in,we are humans and certainly flawed.Definitely,everyone loves themselves,aside from the aspirations of being rich were most people desire to be certain people of affluence ,fame and so much riches,on an average scale,everyone loves who they are,regardless who.
We all love self no matter how selfless we might assume we are and I hunk its entirely normal.

Actually,I heard that line in a movie and now I don't even remember the name but I totally agree with that quote.Only a psycho can do such a thing,inflicting such damage and pain to self.
ALL I AM SAYING IN ESSENCE:
is that we should not get surprised when we get selfish at times,it's a part of us which we cannot deny and it must set in.Its only natural!
