Bitcoin

Bitcoin soars past $8 000 as tech worry vanishes

Bitcoin has gone up past $8000 after investors stopped caring about tech restrictions. Which means that Bitcoin has now gone up more than 700% since the beginning of the year. Many people are still mentioning that Bitcoin is in a bubble, but it's now worth so much that the world has to take it seriously. People have started using Bitcoin alternatives, like Bitcoin Cash. Which has seen a spike this week too. The Bitcoin community is still debating the slow and expensive transactions on the blockchain.

Blockchain

Blockchain gets a Wall Street win

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and JPMorgan Chase & Co. are planning on implementing blockchain technology to track trades. This is thanks to blockchain startup Axoni who completed a successful 6-month test run using virtual currency and tracking live trades. "A blockchain system for equity swaps works to speed transaction times because the banks and asset managers all become members of a network that shares a so-called distributed ledger. Each member has an up-to-date copy of the ledger, so when payments need to go from one participant to another they can be processed almost in real time." This is a huge win for blockchain technology.

This left the press conference that was supposed to happen after the show with an empty seat.
