In this new edition of our weekly magazine of scientific popularization operating in the blockchain we will recognize some articles posted last week, briefly prefaced here by @eniolw. Let's remember that STEMSocial acknowledges and shows appreciation to these articles based on the support they were granted after curation and also based on the receptivity they had, evidenced by the interaction in the comments section.
It's not easy to label or generalize this week's selection, but we could say it is related to life, with topics of psychology, medicine, virology and the physics of the atmosphere. We encourage you to pay them a visit, take advantage of their content if you like it and show your appreciation.
The post by @agmoore tops the list with at least 15 comments and a topic as interesting as it is useful for content creators. After talking about some theoretical elaborations in psychology and neuroscience research findings, the author makes the respective transfers to the field of blogging, so that you can attract readers' attention to your content. We will see that sometimes a good headline can be enough (without having to be clickbaiting) as well as an appropriate color scheme.
Our recurring author @gentleshaid tells us about the indiscriminate consumption of contraceptive pills. Backed up by his own professional experience as a pharmacist in addition to numerous sources cited between the lines, the author explains to us when it is an indiscriminate level, which becomes more evident when carried out by young girls. In the post we also learn the negative health consequences, which are not few and could become permanent.
There are many types of texts out there. We science lovers are used to reading papers and essays written in prose with an argumentative style. But when it comes to teaching, we can enrich our dissemination with different techniques. That's what @scienceblocks does here by resorting to narrative. Through a (fictitious) dialogue between him and one of his pet virus know-it-all named Veeru, we will learn a bit about etymologies, precursors in the field and their work, anecdotes, historical experiments, landmark discoveries, etc.
The practice of medicine can leave a bittersweet taste, because unfortunately not all stories are rosy. @cyprianj tells us about a complicated medical case he witnessed, which unfortunately for the patient, and to everyone's learning, her condition was already aggravated by ineffective and harmful malpractices by people outside of professional medicine. The author expands on Womb (uterus) resetting, Illegal medical treatment by patent drugstore owners and Bone setting, emphasizing that these are shady practices.
To close, we recognize the work of @rbalzan79 who argues the importance of learning about atmospheric pressure for its permanent action on the living beings of our planet, its biosphere. Without it we could literally expand to death in outer space. The invisible action of atmospheric pressure is evident in the author's small experiments and illustrations that make his science didactic and accessible.
