Good day all and welcome to the sixth edition of the stemng digest, a weekly selection of some of the best posts under the #stemng tag in the past week.

As we usually remind ourselves every week, stemng is a sub-community of steemSTEM, a community-driven project which seeks to promote well-written and informative Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics posts by Nigerians on Steemit. The project involves submitting quality STEM-related posts to the steemSTEM management for upvoting and resteeming where applicable.

We might come across solar panels and wondered how it produces electricity. The steemian, @oluwabori took some time to explain the working principles behind how energy from the Sun is converted to electricity. The explanation was detailed, to see more of that kindly follow the link above to his blog.
From the movie The Age of Adaline, @pangoli took us on a ride to discover what makes us age. The article talked about the free radical theory which looked into how humans age, we pushed on to see how we can delay ageing since it is impossible to stop. We live in an information age, and in that age, there are tones of information that is needed to be translated to the format that the decoding or receiving gadget could handle. @henrychidiebere showed us what happened behind the scene as digital signals get converted to analogue signals or vice versa through the use of ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit). From how long the title was you could tell that @pearlumie is up to give us some treat. So fasten your seatbelt as we follow the article through the scientist's discovery of a new cheaper method of making an HIV vaccine. We have the robots to thank for this innovation. There is a new finding on the mechanism that brain uses to organise information with the help of virtual reality. There is a host of other fascinating topics in the link above. Do not take our word for it, give it a try.
Both light and sound exhibit properties of a wave. @churchboy neatly summarised the propagation of sound wave as a longitudinal wave. He talked about how that sound energy reaches the ears of the receiver. Then he examined the relationship between fundamental notes harmonics and how these can be manipulated to produce music.
The @learnandteach01 took upon the task of educating us on the virus and its makeup right down to its DNA. It is quite a fascinating read which you will confirm too when you check the blog.
The name may sound like something you may never have heard of before, but we assure you that may not entirely correct. This is another name for the Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) which @ugonma took time to explain the predisposing factors and the various microbes that causes that.
