Beyond your horizon I wait for you,
As your landscape changes with each veiw.
Paper dolls and mockingbirds,
Tainted love by unspoken words.
Paper daisies lie shredded at your feet,
And so it is we no longer speak.
I once knew a boy of raven hair and the bluest eyes,
A quiet disposition of repose, a soul full of life.
But this soft touch is now slain red with wrath,
For a beautiful heart came to punish the cunning fox!
A siren of beauty did once sing to me,
A song enriched with despair, youth and treachery.
Such a wholesome brevity washed over me,
I was overcome with tears in its wake.
For years I yielded the affection of a love besotted,
For hours I'd be consumed by the things I could not fake.
Disillusioned by a mind so unlike mine,
A coward though I am,
I retrace back to the tainted face.
I searched myself to find those broken and missing peices, to put me back together,
But all I saw was ugliness and distortion,
All the wonders that you left behind.
These paper dolls and mockingbirds, all neatly lined in a row,
With endlessly unfurling vocabulary,
All my secrets to you I bestow.
I edge forth onto the pedestal that is forever you..
And silently, I take a running leap.
Beyond and away,
I fly.
Thank you so much for taking the time to view my work today. Embrace all your dreams!
