According to Google, Factor can be seen as a circumstance, fact or influence that contributes to a result.
While in Mathematics, a Factor is a number or quantity that when multiplied with another produces a given number of expression.
We're all familiar with this in Mathematics as we see in the topic FACTORIZATION
As Google said, a factor is something, anything that causes a result.
All over the world today, we see and hear a lot happening. Some we know the factor or factors while others keep us wondering what would have led to such results or consequences.
I haven't really understood the concept of natural disasters which are a given constant in our world. I have always wondered what factor or factors results in all kinds of natural disasters.
Scientists have given us the logical explanations and all, but then it makes me wonder Is that really it?. Because if it's so logical why haven't we been able to find a logical way to reduce if not stop natural disasters.
Sometimes when things happen and the end result is overwhelming it's usually traced to a very small factor.
For example, an armed robber is arrested for robbing a bank and when questioned and asked why he robs a bank, he says it's because as a little boy he got robbed by kids bigger than he and so the trauma followed him all through his life and he decides to rob others to make them feel as he felt when harrassed as a little boy.
Though that may have happened a long time ago and one would expect that he'd grow up and forget all that childhood trauma, but he doesn't and so in a way one can say that the bullying factor he experienced as a child resulted in him becoming an armed robber.
Back to the natural disasters, we humans add to the list of factors that result in natural disasters. For example flooding the ocean and water bodies with plastic. In many areas in the world plastic dumping has had terrible effects on the water system thereby resulting in extreme flooding which is also a natural disaster especially when lives are lost in the process.
In conclusion, we have to find a way to make a cleaner environment wherever we are in order not to add to the list of factors that result in natural disasters.
