Sunday reflections: politics

Hello everyone, yesterday I had an evening with friends and after a couple of drinks we started to talk about politics. I am definitely not a politician but I have always voted when I could go and vote. We have to go to vote in Belgium, atleast until the last elections. Next year there will be elections again and for the elections of the mayor and the municipalities, we won't any longer have to vote. We will be able to vote. Ofcourse such a change in law will definitely change the outcome of the elections. So, it will be intriguing to follow the elections and its outcome. But the reflections I had yesterday were about something else: How to get the opinions of the different parties?

It became the topic of the talk with a friend sotting next to me. I really want to utilize my right to vote as I can decide in which direction I want my country / municipality to go. But I always struggle to find a complete program for each party. Ofcourse I know their main thoughts and ideology but I would like to know the details of their programs. Often we receive leaflets in which they highlight some aspects, but here again, I would prefer to have an overview and not just several mainpoints. Next year a lot of parties in my municipality will form one party. This makes it even harder to know what their stances are. As there are quite some parties with different ideas now forming one party. So I'm curious where this will bring us.

As I was thinking how it could be organized better and more clear, I thought that a website which collects the programs of all different parties would be really usefull. Thay way it would be easily visible to everyone who would like to inform him- / herself. When thinking further about it, maybe even something on Hive / blockchain technology could be used. Why? The different parties won't be able to change their vision or they can change but the previous opinions will still be visible on the blockchain. It's just a vague thought I had, so no idea how to make it workable exactly but I think something should be possible!
