Hive Power (HP)
Hello everyone!
Today I'll write a bit about delegating Hive Power and how I look to this topic. I know there are plenty of possible ways to tackle it and I am sure there aren't that many wrong options, as it's merely a personal preference but I'll still try to write down my take on it! I'll hope you enjoy it and maybe you can learn something from it. :)
Why Hive Power?
The more Hive Power you have, the more influence you have on the Hive blockchain ecosystem as you could participate more in the governance of Hive and vote which projects should receive funding and which ones shouldn't receive any funding. Besides that, you can curate quality content as well while growing your stack of Hive Power. So plenty of usecases for Hive Power.
My personal story
Personally when I recently joined Hive, I was trying to hunt for the highest apr when I delegated to other projects as those were often giving me more than the 9% I could get more or less from actively curating myself. This strategy was fine at the time as my upvote was rather small anyway, like less worth than a cent. Recently my vote value reached the milestone of being worth $0,01. Ofcourse this still is rather small but it's something. As I want to grow my account (or business as people often call it on Hive), I decided I would like to manage my Hive Power myself. That way, I can use it to curate, aka engage with others. As I wrote in an earlier post, my goal for this year is to achieve a total Hive Power of 1.5K, which should have been doable when I set it at the beginning of September. Now, with 10 days left of the year, I am at 1.256 Hive Power at the moment of writing with pending curation rewards of 28 Hive Power. So my guess would be that I would achieve the 1.3k Hive Power but miss the target of 1.5K HP. BUT this 1.3K is only what I achieved through writing articles and curation. I will probably power up 200 more Hive which I have laying around in my Hive Engine account to reach my goal.
Where would I delegate?
Thus, I already talked about what I do with my HP, but I would like to add an hypothetical case. If I would have to delegate my Hive Power at this moment in time, than I would probably delegate it to the following projects:

@ecencyOfcourse having just a list, doesn't tell you much, so I'll elaborate a bit more:
- wrestorgonline: I have been following this project for over 1,5 years and I think they are doing a great thing on Hive. They have just launched their public beta version of their wrestling themed game. You can read more about the game at the bottom of this article. Didn't add it here as I want to keep the focus on HP. They are quite trustworthy in my eyes and they try to improve the wrestling world compared to the moment they started this project. Read: They help out retired wrestlers! Ofcourse we want something in return as well, they are offering an apr of about 16%, paid in the $WOO token.
- holozing: The brain behind this project is noone else than
@acidyo. You'll probably know him from the ocdb curation program. So yes, he's a very established person on Hive with a tremendous track record. Recently he launched the holozing project which will be a game, 'comparable to the old pokemon franchise' but better ofcourse. ;) Here again, we are interested in the financials as well: 27% apr for delegating HP, paid in $ZING. As the project is younger, it could be that the percentage drops some more. Though, it could stay the same or climb as well. My only advice would be, check it out!
- ecency: I already know this front end for quite some time. Though when I started on Hive, I only knew Peakd and I kept on using it. Every now and than though, I try to use ecency as well, to try something 'new'. Recently I learned that delegating HP to ecency gives you the curation rewards + ecency points which could be used to promote or boost articles of your own or of someone else. I don't know what the exact apr would be for delegating to ecency but when you add those points, I am sure it won't disappoint you!
Conclusion
I think it's important to make your own decision in terms of what you want to do with your HP. When you've made your decision and want to opt for delegating it, check out the different possibilities and than you can start to rake in the juicy apr's!

What is WOO?
WOO, aka Wrestling Organization Online is an upcoming play2earn game on the Hive blockchain about wrestling. They aim to bring back territory wrestling, where the wrestlers are tradeable nft's. The public beta of the game launched on December the 13th. It's an autobattler in the theme of wrestling. There are 3 undercard events and 1 main event. Winning an undercard event gives you 1 point and winning the main event gives you 2 points, so 5 points are what we're fighting for. There are wrestler NFT's and manager NFT's which gives bonuses to the wrestlers. In the near future you'll be able to earn $WOO, just by playing the game, a real #play2earn game!
