The Paying Hobby

Hello guys, today I wanted to participate again in one of the weekly contests from the Hive Learning community. At first, I was really excited about the subject but soon I realized I don't really have a hobby which generates money. Except writing on hive ofcourse. So, I decided to just write about why I write on Hive and some potential hobbies I could use to scrape together some pennies.
Writing on Hive
I could start describing Hive here or tell you guys what it is about. But I guess you guys already know Hive, so I'll write down why I write on Hive as a hobby.
Some of you may already know it but I discovered Hive through Splinterlands, as I was bored and searching for a new game. I discovered the concept of play-2-earn, read about Splinterlands and a bit later I found out about Hive and its possibility of writing articles. As I saw Splinterlands rather as a hobby and not as an investment, I didn't want to invest my own money into it. So when I saw that it was possible to earn some pennies through writing articles, I was immediately hyped.
That's how it all started. One could ofcourse argue that it isn't really a hobby but rather a side hustle. I wouldn't really agree with that reasoning though. I could do a sidejob and generate more money than writing through Hive. But the most important thing is that I see it merely as a hobby. You write and are able to connect with people from all over the world. This is the most epic aspect in my opinion. As I didn't find a side hustle yet where I get this aspect. Why do I repeat this one? For me it's a hobby to discover other cultures. Traveling ofcourse helps with it but reading, talking and in general connecting with people from other cultures online helps aswell. So yes, I definitely see writing as a hobby and not as a side hustle.
Other hobbies I could use
As stated earlier, I wanted to describe some other hobbies which I could use to earn something. To be honest at the moment of writing I don't have any other hobbies which I could use. Though I like it to trade stuff. As I have a mother who likes it to do craftwork like creating scarfs etc, she often checks second hand shops and online markets for wool. When I see her doing this, I always imagine how it would be easy to earn some money by scooping up the cheap wool and selling it for some percentages more. Ofcourse this won't earn you big money, but it could be something.
As I like it to roam on these online markets, I see it rathe as a hobby. But here again one could argue, it's more a side gig.
