We will be covering this in our next episode on 4th&20 Sports but I figured I'd bring a little insight to the Steemit world! Ryan Tannehill may be hurt and may need surgery. Maybe he's not hurt and he doesn't need surgery. Who knows? Definitely not the Dolphins.
Ryan Tannehill suffed an acl tear late in the 2016 season but did not surgery as it was repaired with stem cell technology. Now at training camp, Tannehill was scrambling and seemed to have hyperextended his knee. At first, the team was worried. Then, relieved, as the MRI reports show no structural damage. Now we have reports from ESPN that Ryan's MRI reports show no damage but are still inconclusive as he may still need surgery.
Regardless of the he said, she said going on, one this is certain: Miami needs to find a QB. Here are some of the options I think are possible:
Matt Moore
Granted, Matt Moore is good. He averaged 63.2% in passing completions and scored a 105.6 QBR at the end of the season when he stepped in for Tannehill. He's a gun slinger, and he's accurate. But he's a 10 year backup for a reason. He knows the playbook, and he can handle the pressure. I think he can fit into Tannehill's shoes but I don't see playoff hopes remaining the same.
Colin Kaepernick
Here we go again: another Kap media fiasco. Kaepernick is the best qb in free agency, hands down. He's a great rusher, he can handle the deep ball, and he's been to a superbowl. Granted, he took a stand for what he believes in and now is not being wanted by any team due to media distractions. The Fins took Laremy Tunsil minutes after a video of him smoking a bong surfaced, so maybe the Fins take another troubled player under center.
Jay Cutler
Cutler and Gase. Everyone is talking about. Dolphins head coach Adam Gase had worked with Cutler during his time in Chicago. While together, Cutler had one of the most productive seasons in 2015: 3659 yards, 28 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a 64.4% pass completion rating. Cutler will probably be the guy if Tannehill goes down, as he has already made a statement saying he will "put his broadcast career on hold if called to be a starter".
Johnny Manziel
He needs a new chance. He's fast, he's a scrambler, and he was a college stud. Crazier things have happened. But who knows, Gase is all about discipline and Johnny needs discipline. That, and he would be cheap too.
Robert Griffin III
This one's even crazier. But he is working out for teams so anything can happen.
Well, there you go. We got some trouble in Miami, but the Fins trust Gase. "In Gase We Trust" is a newly adapted slogan among the Fins community and they sure believe in it. Only time will tell what occurs the QB drama that is the Miami Dolphins.
