Description from Strava:
As mentioned previously I had some issues with the Allbirds shoes I bought recently. They are fine for walking, but give me blisters when running. I have bought another pair of their Dasher shoes that were fine for me. The last pair have clocked up nearly 1000km with no issues. These shoes have a lower environmental impact than other brands through use of natural materials. They are not cheap, but if you check the different colours you may find some deals.
I used these for my usual run today. It rained a fair bit yesterday, but this morning was cool and dry. The run was okay with the usual niggles from my hip. I really hope that will improve soon. I am seeing the physio again next week to check my progress.
I was not going for a fast pace, but had a little burst on the way back. I did some stretching before and after the run. I saw a couple of other runners out there. One young guy came steaming past me as I went up West Drive. I was not going to keep up with him.
The shoes were fine. The old ones have lost all their tread, but have worn well.
After I had breakfast and showered we had some rain, so I managed to miss that. It is predicted to rain more later, so maybe summer is over. Of course Wimbledon is on so that sometimes means we get rain.
I will aim to do another outing before parkrun and may try some intervals. I seem to be lacking a little fitness lately. That may be down to my hip issue, but I can still run.
Run free and stay strong.
