Description from Strava:
Today is going to be over 30C again so I got out before breakfast. I wanted to do more hill sprints and I do it on a road that is well shaded.
It was not too bad with peak pace under 5min/km, but I cannot maintain that for long. I need to keep doing speed workouts to improve this. I see others going much quicker, but this is all I can do for now.
I am under no illusions about what I am capable of. I heard somewhere that a lot of people reckoned they could run a 4 minute mile. That means going twice as fast as I can at my best and only top athletes can manage that. So far no woman has managed it.
I run for my health, but I have my own goals that include improving my time at parkrun. I think I do okay for my age.
I ran back through an alley that is getting a bit overgrown. I have thought that if I had the time I would like to help in keeping such places clear as the council cannot keep up. I know some local people already do this work.
Stay safe if it is hot where you are, but run free if you can.
