Description from Strava:
Today is the day of the biggest run in the UK, but I was off out on my own. Meanwhile records were broken as Tigst Assefa beat her women's record and Sabastian Sawe became the first man to run under two hours in an actual race, as opposed to a staged event with pacers. The first three finishers beat the old record and that is pretty amazing.

Meanwhile I was out just plodding along on a gentle run in the Bedfordshire countryside. I was marshalling at parkrun yesterday, so my legs were fairly fresh. I am trying to go gently on some runs, but was not checking my heart rate this time.

I ran past the parkrun course and on up to Langford on a lovely morning. There is a nice track near the lakes with lots of birds around. I came back along the road. I saw a few other runners out, but I am not sure if anyone I know was doing the marathon this year. I ran about a quarter of that distance.

I was a little quicker than I needed to be to keep my heart rate down, so it did go into the higher zones. That is still a good workout.

We have been busy in the garden where I have been shifting some heavy slabs. It is all looking quite nice now.

I hope you all had a great weekend.

Run free!
