Description from Strava:
I should make it clear that I was not running a marathon, but it is race day in London and I have some friends who ran it. Well done to them. I would need to train a lot more to go that far.

My run was more modest. I had some things on today, so could not really be out much longer. It was a little cool, so I went for long sleeves and soon warmed up. It was pretty much my usual route and quite nice out there. I was not feeling too bad. I was marshalling at parkrun on Saturday, so did not need to recover from that. I did do a lot of walking on our trip to Cambridge though.

I did the long route around Stotfold and then across the fields. I often go down Speedwell Way and it seems appropriate. When I got to Etonbury School I decided to head through the wood instead of going along the road to Arlesey. It was not too muddy in there and it is nice to be away from the road. The school used to have a small farm, but it is empty now and there are no pigs to feed. I found my way through to the bridge over the bypass.

The new road from the bridge back to Arlesey is very exposed, but mostly downhill, so I could pick up a bit of speed. That allowed me to get the average pace under 6min/km.

I had breakfast when I got back before cleaning out the chickens. We were out for lunch again today. I have eaten very well this weekend, so I needed to burn off some calories.

Have a great week and run free!
