The past week and the next 7-10 days, at least Greece and Europe as a whole, are living under an unprecedented heatwave called Cleon in Greece. Cleon was an Athenian General during the Peloponnesian War.
This year's heatwaves, which have hit countries all around the world, are showing us that the planet is finally starting to hit back. We can't take this lightly because from here on out, things will get worse, not better. We might have time to react and minimize the problems, but our lives will change.

Greece
Wild fires raging close to seaside resort settlements south of Athens have destroyed untold numbers of homes and cars. Over the past hour dramatic scenes have unfolded in the coastal resorts of Lagonissi, Saronida and Anavyssos as blazes fanned by high-speed winds have moved in.
Despite Greek authorities issuing precautionary evacuation orders, latest reports indicate that people have been trapped in homes in Lagonissi.
Canada
Beginning in March 2023, and with increased intensity starting in June, Canada has been affected by an ongoing, record-setting series of wildfires. As the worst wildfire season in recorded Canadian and North American history surpassing the record held by the 2020 California wildfires, eleven provinces and territories have been affected, with large fires in Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec. On June 25, the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre declared the 2023 wildfire season was the worst in Canada's recorded history, surpassing the 1989, 1995, and 2014 fire seasons.
As of July 16, 4,147 fires had burned 10,005,903 hectares (24,725,125 acres), and of the 883 active wildfires, 580 were deemed "out of control". International aid has helped reduce the impact of the fires.
Smoke emitted from the wildfires has caused air quality alerts and evacuations in Canada and the United States. By late June it had crossed the Atlantic reaching Europe.
And don't forget two years ago the fires in Australia and the damage they have done to the entire ecosystem.
So the Planet is fucked up we fucked it up and who knows how bad things will become because the damage and the repercussions won't be linear but exponentially bad!!
