Dear @steemsports fans, thank you for your support of our project thus far! We are very encouraged by the participation and comradery of the sporting enthusiasts in our wonderful community.
We have recently had some issues with our script, hence why payouts are delayed. In summary, our script kept timing out halfway and losing connection with public steem.ws and piston.rocks nodes, we think it may be due to too many transactions hitting the blockchain in a short space of time.
Unfortunately, the initial script did not have a resume feature or a way to go back and pay the unpaids. It took up to 3 hours per broken payout to sort out the balance of payments and memos manually, which was not feasible for us to continue doing.
We are now working with developer @furion, to restore payment functionality and at the same time upgrade the script with checks and balances and enhance it with new features which will be quite exciting. It was actually good that this happened because
@furion initially only created the first script for us on a once-off basis, but since the script issue, we reached out to him again and while working on the new script, he has realised the true power of
@steemsports and is very passionate to join us on an ongoing basis to grow the project even further from a developmental aspect.
We both believe @steemsports and
@furion's video UI project steemQ will be great assets to the Steem community and will help generate more interest in our currently, undervalued and underestimated platform. I will support the steemQ initiative as much as I can and there has been talk of my potential involvement. The
@steemsports team is also enthusiastic to support the project and post game commentaries in video format on steemQ.
Please help us to help the community with our projects and vote for witnesses thecryptodrive and furion.
Direct donations are also welcome and appreciated towards @steemsportsfund and
@steemq-funds.
Games will continue in the meantime for the enjoyment of our fans and so as not to disappoint our writers who had their hearts set on writing certain pre-booked games.
Please see below for some great news on statistics and please continue to have fun with us on @steemsports.
Sincerely,
Ok so while we wait for payouts to resume, let's have some fun with statistics results.
When we released the first statistics teaser, we accumulated SD towards the top three winners of the first Statistics results announcement, this should have been announed sooner, but the script issues kept us busy so we are just releasing these results right now.
The first stats pool was spread over the first two weeks of games, but since the number of games have increased, we can start narrowing down stats winners to weekly instead of bi-weekly as we did for this first run.
We also plan to have an overall monthly winner(s), which will be the winner(s) of 4 weeks worth of stats results. At this point we are uncertain wherether there will be one or three monthly winners, it all depends on how much we can accumulate, 20% of the stats post Author Rewards will be kept aside for the monthly winner(s) and 60% of the Author Rewards will go towards the next weekly stats rewards reveal, an example of the workings can be seen here:
Total SD: 49.010 (from previous stats post, the announcement post in this case)
15% Writer -7.351
5% Steemsports fund -2.450
20% Monthly Winner Pool -9.802
60% Weekly Top 3 winners -29.406
Without further ado, please see below for our top-20 stats winners by number of games won across the first two weeks combined, from games played between 2016-09-21 to 2016-10-09
The top 3 winners will receive SD rewards from the previous stats pool collection in a ratio related to their winning rank.
For this stats payout, @nextgen622 is a clear winner with 15 games won and a total of 106.326 SP won in that period, followed by
@theprophet0 and
@cryptoiskey. Their SD prizes are also shown in the table below and will be paid to them shortly after release of this post.
| Rank | Player Name | Games Won | Total SP Won | SD Prize |
|---|---|---|---|---|

We also have some more great news, the monthly winner will also receive gift from our new @steemsports clothing line, designed by our very own
@cryptoiskey's CiK Productions.
Once our first test batch comes in, we will start to make the apparel available for sale for Steem Dollars on peerhub.com and directly from the CiK website and eventually on our own steemsports.com web front-end.
Some community members have realised the potential of making use of prize sponsorship in return for adversting on our high visibility posts, so far @papa-pepper has kindly offered a BIGFOOT t-shirt for the monthly winner(s) and
Peerhub.com has offered a 20 SD voucher for use on their webstore.
Please support these great Steemians who are helping us with gifts for our winners.
Enjoy!!!

@steemsports in the unlikely event that when the Stake Pool is divided up between the winners and the nomenclature resolution goes below the third decimal place (example: 0.0001), then Steem decimal restrictions won’t allow a payout and the pool will carry over to the next game.
