Welcome to more of Josephs BassCam footage from April 12, 2026. featuring Tower Of Power’s “What Is Hip?*” as performed by me and the Jazz Derelicts.

So, how often are you expected to imitate an Olympian?

The original bass part for this is coveted by many bass players. Rocco was an amazing player and I hope he would appreciate my surviv… er uh mutilation… no INTERPRETATION of the carnage… NO “chords” is what i meant to type.
Learning this bass part is very hemorrhoidal er uh HEALTHY!!!

The GoPro Session battery usually dies before the last few songs. This footage is from an iPhone mounted to the middle of my music stand.

Bass: Fender Jazz Bass Deluxe 4 String… also known as “Bread and Butter.” when I was a full-time musician I used this bass and I modified it for longevity. Super light strings, heavy mass bridge, low action, and useful controls. Oh except, I broke off the mid-range tone knob. It's okay. I'll fix it someday.

Beer: This venue is not a brewery. I just ask for the IPA. I hear the burger is good. Maybe I’ll order that instead next time. To go would be real slick. I got hungry typing this.
