In history text books and the national mass media, several years before the creation of Peace in Nangroe Aceh Darussalam, we often hear the term "Aceh Uprising" or "Aceh Uprising" against the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
From the time of Bung Karno's rule to his successor presidents, a number of "contingent" troops from various regions, especially from Java, were sent to Aceh to "quell" this rebellion. We seem to accept just the term "rebellion" that made Aceh against NKRI.
Though the term is actually biased and less precise. Because in fact and this historical fact that Naggroe Aceh Darussalam actually never revolted in NKRI, but withdraw its agreement with NKRI. These two terms, * "rebellious" * with * "pulling the deal" * are two very different things.
- Already Independent Before NKRI Born
NKRI was officially newly independent on August 17, 1945. While Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam had centuries before independence, had its own state law (Qanun), made friendships with overseas nations, and even became part (protectorate) of the Caliphate Islam Tuki ottoman.
So how could an independent and sovereign state since the 14th century AD, along with the fading power of the Sriwijaya Buddhist Empire, be considered rebellious to a newly independent State in the 20th century?
Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam is a sovereign country that is never subject to the Western invaders. Dutch colonists twice sent large numbers of troops to attack and subdue Aceh, but both failed, although in the last attack the Dutch could occupy the centers of the country.
Since against the Portuguese to the Dutch VOC, which is within the chests of the Acehnese people is to maintain the marwah, dignity and dignity, Aceh Darussalam as an independent and sovereign nation based on the Qanun Meukuta Alam that breathes Islam.
At that time, we must admit honestly, not in the minds of the people of Aceh about whose name defends Indonesia. For hundreds of years, the centuries of the Kingdom of Aceh Darussalam stand upright even recognized by the East and West as an independent and sovereign "State".
The term "Indonesia" itself was just born in the 19th century. If compared with humans, Aceh Darussalam is a mature human who is already rich with salt-life, strong, and self-sufficient, while "Indonesia" is still a baby who for self-feeding alone is not able to do it.
Much of the historical literature is also commonly referring to the Acehnese as the "People of Aceh", but has never mentioned the same for other tribes in the archipelago. Never has histories refer to Javanese as Javanese people, Borneans as the people of Borneo, and so on. There is only the people of Aceh. Because Aceh was a nation that has been independent and sovereign.

The willingness of the people of Aceh to support the struggle of the Indonesian nation, even sincerely donating all its human and material resources to defend Indonesia's independence, more than any other region in the archipelago, is simply because the people of Aceh feel the bonds of brotherhood in a creed and one faith with the people Indonesia is predominantly Muslim.
It is this Islamic Brahman who unites the people of Aceh with the Indonesian nation. Moreover, Bung Karno with tears in his eyes once promised that for Aceh, the Republic of Indonesia will guarantee and give freedom and fully support the implementation of Islamic Shari'a in its territory. Something that is indeed the pulse of the Acehnese nation.
But history also notes that not yet dry Bung Karno's lips say, the promise that he once said was betrayed himself. Even the unilateral right of the Acehnese people to self-regulate is wiped out. Aceh is united as North Sumatra Province. This is clearly very offensive to Acehnese pride.
With this policy, the Jakarta government is very reckless because it does not take into account the socio-cultural and historical basis of the people of Aceh. Not that anything, hundreds of years ago when the people of Aceh have been so prosperous, high science, dayah and libraries have spread widely throughout the region, even many Aceh people who master foreign languages more than four languages, in what is now known as the Province North Sumatra at that time, the humans who inhabited the area were still ancient civilized. There are still many cannibal tribes, not knowing books, anything else read-write. Only coastal areas that have been civilized because of contact with traders from many countries.
As the war defended independence against the Dutch, aid from Aceh in the form of logistics and troops also flowed into the Medan Area. Even when the flow of refugees from the area of North Sumatra into the region of Aceh, the people of Aceh welcome him with open arms and sincere. So clearly, when Jakarta even merged Aceh into the Province of North Sumatra, the people of Aceh is very offended.
It is not surprising that the people of Aceh, spearheaded by PUSA with Teungku Daud Beureueh, withdrew the promise of joining the Republic of Indonesia in 1953 and preferring to join the Islamic State of Indonesia (NII) proclaimed S. M. Kartosuwiryo in West Java. This is solely for the benefit of Islamic da'wah and syiar. By this logic, Aceh is not rebellious or separatist, but more precisely with the term: withdrawing the willingness to join the republic because it is of no benefit.
The common man's view that Teungku Muhammad Daud Beureueh and his followers are not nationalists is a very erroneous and a-historic view. Because history records in gold ink how the people of Aceh and Daud Beureueh welcomed the independence of Indonesia with loud and loyal oaths, even with all the remaining strengths that are struggling to maintain the country's independence facing the ruprongan of the Western conspiracy.
- How to See ''Majapahitisme''
Saying Aceh had ever rebelled against the Unitary Republic of Indonesia is a perspective that departs from the paradigm of 'Majapahitisme'. It is not necessarily a cover-up that the Old and New Order worldviews have been far too Majapahitisme 'or Java Sentris, all considered to be the same as the Hindu Javanese culture. Even the symbols of the state were termed sanskrit terms, a thick influence of Hinduism and paganism which in Islamic creed is considered as shirk, associating with Allah and including unforgivable sins.
Is not it a very strange thing, a large Muslim-majority country of the world but the symbol of the country is full of Hinduism. This is an ill-conceived proof of the aspirations of the ruler and his people. Yet Islam does not recognize, even against mysticism or other shirking things. The Acehnese are well-rounded and intelligent to judge that such things are unacceptable.
The socio-cultural Javanese kings are very thick with Hinduism. The king is an incarnation of the god, the voice of the king is the voice of a god. Therefore, in Java there is the term "Pandhita Ratu's Word" which should not be broken. The king in Java used to do anything, create his own rulers and no one protested when he broke it. In fact according to some historical literature, there are kings in Java who have the right to "taste the virginity" of every woman he likes in his territory. So, when the bride's night, the bride is not sleeping with the bridegroom, but with the king first to be tasted, after that it is the turn of the bridegroom.
This is very contrary to the socio-cultural of the Sultan and Sultanah in the Kingdom of Aceh Darussalam. In Islam, the ruler is the holder of a mandate that must be responsible for his leadership in the last day to Allah SWT.
The Kingdom of Aceh Darussalam when ruled by Sultan Iskandar Muda already has a kind of House of Representatives and People's Consultative Council (DPR-MPR) whose rights and obligations have been regulated in the 'State Constitution' of Qanun Meukota Alam. There is also a Syuro Council which contains a number of influential clerics who are in charge of advising the ruler and giving directions directed or not. Aceh also has local authorities responsible to the central government. Thus, a ruler in the Kingdom of Aceh Darussalam can not do anything, because his attitude and actions are limited by Qanun Meukuta Alam based on Quranic values.
Thus, it is clear that the socio-culture between Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam and the Hindu kingdoms is very contradictory.
Nangroe Aceh Darussalam is willing to support and unite with the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) on the persuasion of Soekarno, solely for believing in the ukhuwah Islamiyah ropes. However, when Aceh was betrayed and even during the Old Order and New Order period, all of its natural resources were vacuumed to Java, Aceh naturally withdrew its willingness to join the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Aceh pulls back the deal, not rebellion. This is simply because of the mistake made by the "Jakarta Government" against Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.
And when Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam was willing to reunite into the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) was willing to lay down its arms and vote for a parliamentary road, Aceh is now led by a local son through a very democratic election, then it should be that the NKRI treats Aceh fairly and proportionally .
For decades Aceh has donated its wealth to the welfare of the entire archipelago, especially Java Land, so now it is time for "Java" to build Aceh. Hopefully this 'deal' can become eternal, solely preserving the principles of fairness and mutual price-respect.[]
