That's quite a tale. I'd pay good money to see his ball in action, even just to catch it. Cool stuff. ...I know what you mean. My fastball/slider are nothing on their own, but when I occasionally mix them in, they're so much more effective. I've sometimes tried to sneak a few extra ones in with the added confidence and am immediately reminded why that's bad.
