They're often tossed for a clog I find and remove in about 2 minutes. They're really easy to spot in the piles and many of them are discontinued luxury/high-end brands or models. It's the same usual suspects so I'm fluent in them and have the parts to test and process them second-natured by now.

Never underestimated the power of a grandma who needs her trusty vacuum fixed to control the cat hair around the house. The demand for some of them is so high on eBay, it's shocking that people continue to toss them. Even if they sold a small part or two, I'd recover a decent portion of the cost of a new vacuum for very minimal effort.
